چکیده

Atmospheric pressure plasma produced by a slot antenna with a pulsed microwave excitation was investigated to understand an electric field influence on hydrogen Balmer- (H) spectral profile using spaceand time-resolved optical emission spectroscopy. Paralleland perpendicular-polarized H emission line profiles with respect to the microwave electric field direction were measured by a polarization spectroscopy technique. Clear differences of H spectral profiles were observed at the early stage of plasma ignition, especially in the vicinity of the slot antenna, revealing the influence of the microwave electric field on H line profiles.

Pulsed Vacuum Osmotic Dehydration of Garlic Bulbs Followed by Microwave Drying

ABSTRACT: The combination of pulsed vacuum osmotic dehydration and microwave drying of garlic bulbs were examined. The response surface methodology (RSM) was used to determine the effect of NaCl concentration (8%-20%), osmotic solution temperature (25-65°C), operation pressure (240-830 mbar), immersion time (20-300 min) and microwave power level (100-600 W) on water loss (WL), solids gain (SG),...

Investigations on Electric Field Distributions in a Microwave Discharge in Hydrogen

Introduction Microwave discharges play an important role in plasma sources for industrial applications like surface modification and thin film deposition. The electric field distribution in the plasma determines the electron density and energy distribution and the homogeneity of the discharge. The typical amplitude of the electric field is of the order of 100 V/cm. Up to now, this low field str...

Spatial Characteristics and Application of Atmospheric Pressure Microwave Nitrogen Plasma Torch

Abstract. Microwave (MW) torches are typically used to produce equilibrium plasmas for various environmental or industrial applications. We use Litmas Red MW torch (2.45 GHz, 3 kW), which is able to generate plasma in a state close to Local Thermodynamic Equilibrium (LTE) in temperature range of 1000-5000 K at atmospheric pressure. We present spatial characteristics of the generated MW plasma a...

Analyzing the production of weakly relativistic plasma produced by microwave fields with circular polarization the electron distribution function is obtained to be non-equilibrium and anisotropic. Furthermore, it is shown that produced plasma is accelerated on the direction of propagation of microwave electric fields. The electron velocity on this direction strongly depends on electron originat...
